Join us for our ASCUS Lab evening sessions!
These sessions will be run with the intention to keep the lab open after hours on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month to accommodate those who work full time, and to make an effort to boost the community aspect of the lab. This will be a time where lab members and friends of ASCUS who don't usually get to cross paths can work on lab experiments, meet others, network, share ideas, just get an idea of what we do, and socialise.
These sessions are for:
people who already use the lab/have lab experience to use the lab
people who want to use the lab but don’t have training yet
for non-lab users interested in what we do to network
for our project partners to socialise
friends of ASCUS
You can book up to 2 months in advance. Please note that sometimes we may need to cancel sessions due to workshops/holidays or other events. You will receive a full refund or have the option to transfer your ticket to a future session.
When booking your ticket, please select the date you would like to attend and the ticket type.
From time to time we might have featured sessions which may include a talk/workshop on a specific theme, teens night out etc. If you have any ideas, let us know!

Existing lab users: During these sessions you can use the lab equipment if you have already received a health and safety induction. Use of equipment will be on a first come first serve basis. You can drop in at any time during the 4pm-8pm window.
When: 1st & 3rd Thursday of each month
Time: 4-8pm
Cost: £15
New Lab users training: If you are wanting to start working in the lab but not sure how or where to start, join us for an overview of microscopy and microbiology techniques.
When: 1st Thursday of each month
Time: 6-8pm
Cost: £40
New lab users with existing lab experience: If you already have lab experience, you still need to complete the Health & Safety induction before you can begin working in the lab.
When: 1st Thursday of each month (Starting in November)
Time: 6-6:45pm
Cost: £20
One-to-one project support or training during these sessions is pre-booked.
When: 3rd Thursday of each month
Time: 30 min sessions, starting at 4:15, 5:15, 6:15, 7:15pm
Cost: £20 (in addition to the lab session fee if using the lab).
