LOUISE MACKENZIE Artist Talk
Co-founder and curator of pop-up cinema experience, BLACK BOX, artist Louise Mackenzie and an invited guest will give a talk on the inspiration behind the BLACK BOX programme.
Louise Mackenzie is a British artist, curator and writer. Her research explores human relationships with the material and nonhuman world through process-based and participatory art practice. She is founder and curator of interdisciplinary cinema, Black Box, co-founder of Alive Together, an interdisciplinary community for research in human/animal relationships and a post-doctoral researcher at Newcastle University’s Hub for Biotechnology in the Built Environment. Her artwork encompasses film, sound and sculpture and her works, The Stars Beneath Our Feet, Zone of Inhibition and Lively Material have been exhibited in the UK, USA, Canada, China and Australia.
